Steve Trout

Steve Trout, Executive Director, MA, Political Science, Certificate in Public Administration, Ohio University. Mr. Trout is the founding director of the Southern Consortium for Children with over thirty-five years experience in various capacities of child and family services. Mr. Trout has been instrumental in funding and developing protocols for children's case management, treatment foster care, crisis and planned respite, advance practice nursing, early childhood mental health services, supported employment for youth, telepsychiatry and telepsychotherapy, workforce development supported by telecommunications, and creating a public/private partnership for the management of children's psychiatric inpatient services. Under his leadership the SCC has been recognized as a semi-finalist in the Innovations in State and Local Government Awards Program, JFK School of Government, Harvard University (1992) and recognized by The Annapolis Coalition on Behavioral Health Workforce Education as an Innovator in Workforce Development (2004). Mr. Trout is active in policy development for children and families at the state and national level, and has presented at numerous conferences and child-related forums across the United States.


John Borchard

John Borchard, Director of Program Development, received his RN from Hocking College and his BSN from Ohio University. With over thirty-one years of clinical, administrative, and program development experience, he is responsible for coordinating development of the Southern Ohio Telepsychiatry Network, SCC distance learning programs, and the Early Childhood Mental Health Initiative.


Amanda Conrath

Amanda Conrath, Office Manager, received an Associate's Degree in Business and a Certification in Travel and Tourism from Hocking College in 1996. She has been with the Southern Consortium for Children since October of 1997. She is responsible for document processing/design, record keeping, website design/maintenance, database creation/management, training registration, and office management. She is a recent graduate from the 2007 Appalachian Leadership Academy where she was awarded the Distinguished Leadership Project Award.


Peg Meis

Peg Meis, Director of Crisis Services, received her Masters in Counseling from the University of Cincinnati. With twenty-five years counseling experience, she coordinates psychiatric admissions and crisis placements for indigent children and adolescents. She also serves as Administrative Coordinator to the Host Home Network, which assists runaway and homeless youth in the ten-county area serviced by the SCC. Ms. Meis also coordinates the monthly Children's Community Support training series and acts as a consultant to our mental health agencies.


Jenny Metts

Jenny Metts, Finance Officer, is a lifelong resident of Athens County, has been with the Southern Consortium for Children since January of 1999. She received her Associates Degree in Accounting in 1998 from Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio. Jenny is the Finance Officer at the SCC and is responsible for computer networking, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reporting grant financials, budgeting, and all other bookkeeping duties.
